Seems like my creative juices started to flower again. My brain cells are budding like cherry blossoms and all I want to do is CREATE & DECORATE!!! Last week, I was meaning to write on the blog and post pictures of my latest window installment. I wish I had more time to do everything I envision. If I could, my windows, online and brick and mortar store would be out of this world and at times very trippy. My imagination runs like the energizer bunny and I need to draw and write most of my ideas. Otherwise, I forget it as quickly as it came to me.  I can start a window with one of my ideas and then it just does not work. Before you know it, I have spent 5 hours putting together a window just to spend another 2 hours to take it down. Its stinks to be a neurotic……

I also want to apologize to y’all that my online store is not as updated as it should be. I will be purchasing lighting equipment and making more time to shoot the clothes. I promise you and me.

Although it seemed like it on Saturday! Torrential rain and 50-70 MPH winds left their mark in Brooklyn. There were a couple of downed trees a few blocks away from Lola’s and we’re so glad no one was hurt.

Spring is almost here and we got 3 styles of our much anticipated Melissa/Vivienne Westwood Shoes! By mid-week, the weather should cooperate and you all can step out in these 100% vegan, bubblegum smelling rubber shoes.

Team On The Fence.. that is where I sit after seeing the newest installment of the Twilight Saga, New Moon.  I have been an avid fan of Vampires since I was a little girl.  There is something so ultra-sexy and mysterious about them, but I will appreciate a buff werewolf any day of the week…

For weeks there was anticipation and googling every New Moon trailer and piece of information that I could get my hands on.  The movie was well worth the advanced ticket purchase two months ago and the waiting in line at the midnight show on Thursday.  I loved it so much I went again on Saturday to see it again in the city with some other Twi-hards!  I sat, both times, staring at the screen in awe and was completely satisfied at the caliber of the performances of all the actors.  None of these movies are Oscar worthy, let’s be honest, but they are definitely good entertainment!

Twilight, the first of the Saga, pales (no pun intended) in comparison to the beauty of New Moon.  The movie was amazing and the characters are brought to life again in a more stunning way.  Edward, Bella and Jacob characters made you feel their pain.  I appreciated the fashion, which at times on Alice made her look too “old,” but for the most part, the gratuitous naked werewolf and vampire was not bothersome.  I left satisfied and definitely wanting more.  I am definitely anticipating Eclipse and wondering what David Slade’s vision will be and hope it holds up to Chris Weitz direction.

I already have a date for Eclipse on June 30, 2010 at midnight.  I wouldn’t miss it for the world!

Santa Maria di Novella

Ladies who are serious about their scent, know to go for broke for beauty products.  This week at Lola’s we are so excited to introduce you to Santa Maria di Novella products.  This line of magificent body products are Hand Made in Italy.  Santa Maria di Novella is an emotional purchase and it will bring familiar scents back to you whether you have been to Europe or not.

A bit of history on this lovely line; the pharmacy was started by the Dominican Fathers in the year 1221 shortly after their arrival in Florence.  It is one of the oldest in the world. The priests began to cultivate herbs that they were able to use in medications, balms and creams.  Four hundred years later, they opened a store after getting permission from Grand Duke de Medici.

The line consists of 41 scents and hundreds of products.  Another wonderful perk to using this product is that it is all natural.  Most of the recipes are still based on the 14th through 16th century recipes. Production of this brand is controlled and the best and most natural ingredients are used.   Our favorites are the soaps and lotions.  The packaging on these beautiful items are consistently old world and written in Italian, of course.  The milky glass bottles and paper wrapped soaps are delightful and make a beautiful addition to your bathroom.  It’s hard to decide if I would love to keep these beauties in rotation or on display.  Please come in to sample Santa Maria Di Novella fragrances and body products.  They make a great gift for the holidays!
